We have been sailing!

Good conditions today for a nice sail down to Portland Roads. Once we left the anchorage at Margaret Bay and were clear of the islands, we turned on to our course to motor sail for a short time. The wind then came to the party and we sailed for the rest of the day with a nice forward of the beam 10-12 knots kicking us along at 6+ knots for most of the day. We cut down through a reef area to stay on course and the seas were flat. We dropped our three sails just out of the anchorage to motor in. Just perfect.

There is a small settlement here and during the gold rush further inland it was used to land supplies. Still no mobile phone or internet though. It's a nice protected anchorage in these winds.

Tomorrow we hope for more of the same on our next leg to Morris Island.

Position: 12 35.669 S, 143 24.317 E
