Up at dawn this morning to make tracks to the Hole in the Wall. We arrived just on the end of the flood tide which flows east and it carried us through nicely. A little turbulence towards the eastern end but once clear we experienced more turbulence for about a mile as the water bundled its way into the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Wind was now easterly and had a great sail, without the engine, all the way to Elizabeth Bay, about 25 NM. Anchored in 11 metres in turquoise waters just north of some extensive pearl farms. The pearl farms are bounded by markers which have radar reflectors on them - how civilized. As we are in quarantine until cleared we have had to stay aboard all day so doing a few jobs prior to arriving in Gove tomorrow.
We are expecting slightly stronger winds tomorrow but they should weaken slightly by the afternoon. We will leave here about midday, arriving in Gove after 4:30, we hope.
