Monday Already

Here it is, Monday already! We left Port Douglas yesterday morning just before 10:00 a.m. planning to stop overnight at Fitzroy Island. As we approached we decided to continue on to Pioneer Bay on Orpheus Island in the Palm Islands some time this morning. The weather seemed as though it was going to be a bit more stormy in the Cairns region so hoped to avoid that. There definitely was more activity when we looked back and about an hour and a half later Fitzroy had disappeared into the rain. We had some drizzle and could see some thunderstorms but they left us alone.

The wind varied from NW to SW and back to NW. Speed also varied so we did some motoring, some motor-sailing and managed a total of just three hours sailing up until 6:00 a.m. By the time we get the anchor down we will have done 145 NM, so a big section out of the way.

Position: 18 08.043 S, 146 19.244 E
