Nagasaki

An early start from Hirado this morning and we were on our way to Nagasaki, 50 NM down the coast of Kyushu.  With conflicting weather forecasts we set off with light winds not knowing quite what to expect but we had light winds all the way mostly from the south west.  At around 10 knots and sitting about 40-50 degrees off the bow we had a very pleasant passage with relatively flat seas all the way.

Arrival at Dejima Wharf Marina in Nagasaki just on 3:00 was nicely timed with visits from Quarantine, Police and Customs.  It is not usual to have the police come by unless we are at a small port with no other authorities based there.  Once finished with them we then had Immigration come to check our passports and visas.  A busy time.

Position: 32-44.647N, 129-52.208E

We will stay here several days at least and maybe a week with an eye on the weather for an opportunity to make our next move south.
