Our plans to leave Odo Marina and Fukuoka on Wednesday were thwarted when Hanna and Hendrick-Jan from Dutch vessel Bannister emailed us to say they would be arriving Thursday. We had cruised with them last year from Ishigaki to Hirado (our last stop before Odo Marina) so we immediately extended our stay until Saturday - the weather and tides should be good for us that day. We have had a busy few days after spending so much time here as the only foreign-registered vessel in the marina and then having two others here at the same time, the other one being Sunstone! It has been very nice to have some cruisers to socialise with and exchange information on all sorts of things. Both Sunstone and Bannister intend to sail up the west coast of Japan before leaving for Alaska in June.
Another earthquake of over 7 magnitude struck northern Japan again late last night but it did not affect us where we are.
