Yesterday we decided that we would continue southward and sail back to Malaysia. Jon's shoulder needs attention and sailing to windward is just too much hard work at the moment.
So, after a visit to the markets in Rio Tuba for fresh supplies we left the anchorage just before 11:00 to retrace our steps to the Cabugan Islands. We arrived here after a couple of hours of downwind sailing about 1:30.
After a peaceful night we spent today here as well. We had a visit from one fisherman who showed us his catch of small fish so obligingly we bought some from him for our dinner. He was very friendly but the language barrier made it difficult to communicate. He did show us his fishing licence though and when we told him we had heard fishermen using dynamite to stun fish he said it was illegal and that he uses a line to catch his. We gave him a zip lock bag to replace the old plastic bag he had his licence in and he promptly threw the old one into the water! Oh, well, at least he doesn't use dynamite.
We will continue on southward tomorrow, probably to Pandanan Island where there is good anchorage out of the winds which are blowing a bit more for a couple of days.
