A good passage across the Balabac Strait on Friday. Light winds to start with, some cloud and a band of rainclouds which we met just south of Balabac Island. Quite heavy but only lasted about half an hour and then we were through the other side. Wind strengthened to 15 knots which gave us a good push along. Decided to continue on to a small island called Candaraman which has good protection from prevailing winds. Four of us anchored between the reefs. The most beautiful white beaches which we haven't seen for so long and turquoise water. Such a change. Stronger winds predicted for the next few days so will not move further north just yet but may move to Pandanan Island a few miles away.
