Arrived Io Jima, a small island with an active volcano at the eastern end. Not very visible though due to foggy conditions! Motored most of the way in the low visibility, checking radar and AIS every few minutes to watch for any passing traffic. AIS was great, showing separation and safe passage between shipping. Radar also picked out a couple of vessels with no AIS.
The last hour and a half we had wind from the NE, 15-20 knots, gusting 25, and quite heavy rain so an interesting arrival into the boat harbour. It was low tide again and fortunately there were plenty of ropes hanging down the walls to grab onto to tie up. A bit tricky with the gusty wind though.
Tomorrow is undecided - still waiting for latest weather although at the moment it looks OK to get to Kuchi No Shima.
Position: 30-46.84N, 130-16.69E
