Departure Time Approaches

It seems the typhoon season may be coming to an end with an opportunity to depart Okinawa soon.  Pam has returned to Australia for a short period and in the meantime good friend Chris will be joining Jon shortly to sail southward.  Pam will rejoin Tweed later in the year wherever the ship may be.

The weather in Okinawa is beginning to moderate with temperatures at the moment ranging from 22-24 degrees Celsius - that's low to high so the nights are still relatively warm - a big difference from 26-32 degrees.  Winter is definitely approaching!

Once Chris arrives Tweed will leave at the first opportunity for Ishigaki, the island almost at the southern end of the Ryukyu Archipelago, then Taiwan and the Philippines.

It has been an extremely busy typhoon season this year in the northwestern Pacific region with 20 named tropical disturbances ranging from depressions to typhoons.  Last year there were 13.
