It's A Long Way To The Top

Just for a challenge, Jon (almost 66), Chris (63) and Leo (58) decided to climb Mt Santubong.

810 metres doesn't sound much if you say it fast but the last part of the climb is very steep and has ropes and ladders in place to assist the climbers. They set off from the anchorage at 6:30 a.m. and walked about 2 km along the road to the track turnoff.

A call was received about 10:00 to say they had reached the top, which was what they had anticipated, so pretty good going. They arrived back hot and thirsty about 1:00 p.m.

20 metres to go, and still smiling!
