This past week has seen a welcome rise in temperatures with 'warm' days of more than 10 degrees. What a difference a few degrees makes! So we suspect that spring is just around the corner and already there is evidence of plums and cherries getting ready to burst into flower.Not a cherry tree, but a pine tree whose seeds have been dispersed much to the delight of the seed-eating birds about the place.
This week we were finally able to replace the fuel pump on the main engine when we had one sent from Brisbane - we had been unable to source one in Japan. In the meantime the generator is playing up and the starter motor has been sent off for servicing/repair. We need either the generator or the engine to charge the batteries each day as, unfortunately, there is no shore power available in Odo Marina
This month also means that we have been back from Australia for almost three months and that our visas are due to expire. So tomorrow, 7 February, we are booked on the Camellia Line ferry from Hakata to Busan in Korea. We will spend two nights in Korea and the third night on the ferry returning to Hakata, arriving at 5.30 a.m., 10 February.
