Alive and Kicking in Kota Kinabalu

Tweed is in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and the crew are still alive and kicking - not a lot to report apart from what happens when you are in a marina - boat jobs get done: the new batteries have been installed, new battery monitor installed, engine has new glow plugs, bolts on the engine have been re-torqued, stainless steel polished, sewing jobs finished, varnishing, etc., etc., ... do you really want to know?? In between we have been seeing some of the town, checking out some of the eating houses, having health checks, participating in alternate Tuesday twilight Optimist sailing (not much fun when there is no wind!), shopping, of course, having fun at a local wedding celebration, and the list goes on - makes one wonder how we get by when there is no marina.

Drifting towards the finish line!

Last night the Sutera Harbour Club and Marina hosted a Candles by Candlelight with local school choirs and rock band - the rock band predominated. Money raised will go to the Pusat Kebajikan Good Shepherds to fund the children, 6-12 years, from a small village to live in a hostel during the school week close to their school rather than have to walk two hours each way every day.
