A Bit of Competition on the Fish Catching Front

If you have been following our Blog, you would know that we have been quite excited lately at actually catching some fish, both large and small. We now seem to have some competition within the ranks. On entering Telaga anchorage last week, we selected a spot to drop the anchor and as we came round into the wind a school of small fish started to jump out of the water. Before we had finished anchoring, our dinghy 'Harris' (what else would you call our dinghy?) had caught five fish! They were only about 100cm long and by the time we retrieved them they had all died. The following day Tweed herself got into the act when another one was found in the gunnel. Then, yesterday, we were running the generator when it started to overheat. After several minutes of investigation, Jon finally discovered the problem. Tweed had caught another fish!! It had entered the salt water cooling intake, managed to get past the ball fitting on the through-hull but was then trapped in the t-fitting.

The now-dead fish caught in the t-fitting.

Hardly worth sending to the galley!
